I have to admit, pizza is one of my favorite foods. Like, ever. I usually pass on dairy, but when it comes to pizza I have a tough time passing any pizza up!
Pizza night has almost become a weekly thing as of late. And I prefer to make it homemade. So a few weeks ago I was having a serious pizza craving and realized I hadn't purchased any pizza sauce. I figured I could wing it and whip some up with what I had on hand. A quick google search led me to one of my favorite blogs, Minimalist Baker. I know I can always trust Dana's recipes. I found that she has a super simple recipe for pizza sauce using just tomato sauce or paste along with a few spices. That's it! I made her pizza sauce recipe and I haven't bought pizza sauce since! I mean, why would you?? For the full recipe, click here: Minimalist Baker's Pizza Sauce.

One 6 oz can of tomato paste (mixed with a little water to desired thickness) OR 12 oz can of tomato sauce
1/2 tsp each of dried basil, oregano, garlic powder, and sugar
1/4 tsp of salt
Mix all ingredients and voila! Pizza sauce that will cost you less than $1.00 per pizza!
*Note: I like my sauce thick so I typically use tomato paste with a splash of water and maybe a very small drizzle of olive oil
